The potting waterproof box is a specialized device that achieves sealing and protection of cable connection points by potting waterproof glue. It is often used in scenarios with extremely high waterproof requirements such as outdoor lighting, new energy, and Marine engineering:
1.Ultimate waterproof sealing: Fully wrapped protective barrier
IP68 long-term water resistance:
After curing, the potting compound forms a seamless sealed body, completely wrapping the cable joints, terminal blocks and other components. It can withstand long-term immersion in water at a depth of 1 to 30 meters (depending on the thickness and material of the potting compound), far exceeding the IP66 water spray protection level of ordinary waterproof boxes.
Dust-proof and anti-corrosion penetration:
The potting compound is closely bonded to the cables and the outer shell of the box body, preventing the invasion of dust, salt spray, oil stains, etc. Silicone rubber potting has strong weather resistance and can resist salt spray corrosion in coastal areas

 

2.Electrical safety: Dual protection of insulation and protection
High insulation and voltage resistance performance:
The insulation resistance of the potting compound is ≥10^14Ω (at 25ºC), and the breakdown voltage reaches 20-35kV/mm, which can isolate arc discharge in high-voltage environments. Epoxy resin potting has outstanding high-temperature resistance (withstanding temperatures of 120 to 180ºC), making it suitable for wiring protection of heat-generating equipment such as photovoltaic inverters.
Impact resistance and shock absorption protection:
After the potting compound cures, it forms an elastic buffer layer, which can absorb external impacts and prevent poor contact at cable joints caused by vibration. It is commonly used for the protection of cable connection points in construction machinery and vibration equipment.

 

3.Maintenance-free and long service life: One-time sealed design
Lifetime waterproof, no need for regular maintenance:
After the glue injection and curing, there are no moving parts, avoiding the protective failure problems caused by the aging of the sealing ring and the loosening of screws in traditional waterproof boxes. The service life can reach 15 to 20 years (the weather resistance of silicone rubber glue injection is better than that of ordinary sealing parts).Traditional waterproof boxes need to have their sealing rings replaced every 2 to 3 years, while potting waterproof boxes can save more than 50% of maintenance costs.
Resistant to aging in extreme environments:
The potting material is added with anti-ultraviolet (UV) and anti-ozone additives. It does not crack or harden under long-term exposure to the sun (such as in desert photovoltaic power stations) or high and low temperature cycles (-40ºC to +80ºC). It meets the UL 94 V0 flame retardant standard and self-extinguishes when exposed to open flame.
